Lester's Roadside BBQ in Burlington

I'm not a huge fan of Smokey Bones in Lowell and RedBones in Davis Square is quite the hike (not to mention the limited parking). In between those two, there's Lester's Roadside BBQ in Burlington, MA.  I love the charm this place offers. Just like what a real BBQ joint should be, it's non pretentious.  I work down the street so my coworkers and I visit for lunch every once in a while.

Their ribs and chicken combo plates are a bit on the pricey side but there is always a coupon online.  You can even share the plate with someone else.
During the week, they offer specials like "all you can eat wings" for a set price.  Parking is always plentiful during lunch time.

My favorite time to go is during the summer when the patio is open.  We usually order a few beers to wash down our BBQ lunch.  My personal preference for BBQ sauce is thick but the one they serve is on the watery side.  This is pretty normal with most BBQ places. I think I'm just used to the fake sugar laden bottled crap at the supermarkets so that's my own problem. On the condiment shelf, there is a variety of sauces to choose from ranging from sweet to spicy and some in between.  In addition to fountain soda, there is lemonade and iced tea.

My friend Taylor received a gift card for Lester's and graciously bought another friend and I lunch.  I went with their 3 sliders combo. It comes with one pulled pork, one beef brisket and one pulled chicken (but you can't mix it up if you prefer). The combo comes with a side and is about $7.99.

Instead of getting pulled chicken, I went with an extra pulled pork. I should have went with the beef brisket, that was my favorite!  The portion of the meat was generous and the bottom bun became super soggy real quick. A few slices of bread and butter pickles are served complimentary.  Warning to those that HATE them and prefer their dill- sister version.

For my side, I went with the collard greens which was really yummy. There was not bitter aftertaste and it was flavorful and tender.  Taylor had the mac and cheese and said it was really good as well.

Jill got the beef brisket burrito which was chopped beef brisket, rice and cheese wrapped in a tortilla shell. It looked amazing!
