Chip's Family Restaurant and Pez Visitor Center in Orange, CT

The Mo and I was in Connecticut over the weekend celebrating my mother's birthday.  After a night of drinking, we headed to Chip's Family Restaurant in Orange, CT to grab a late breakfast.  Although I've only visited a handful of times, I can easily say that it's my FAVORITE breakfast joint in the world.  They won the Reader's Choice Best Breakfast for 2014 in Connecticut Magazine's awards.

I liked the restaurant so much that I once ask my boss to make a pit stop there for breakfast on our way to Philadelphia on a business trip.  My coworkers agreed that they served some of the best omelets around.  I love that they ask their customers if they prefer their meats/veggie as a filling folded into the omelets or mixed in with the eggs, I prefer the later.

We arrived a bit after noon time on President's Day with my family and the restaurant was super packed.  There were customers waiting outside the door.  The hostess  has a great system shepherding everyone into different areas based on their party size.

After waiting a little over half an hour, we were finally seated.  We studied the extensive menu including breakfast specialties along with lunch options and placed our order with the friendly server.  Service was extremely fast, all eight of us got our food in less than 10 minutes.

Being the family that we are, we all ordered different things and tried a bite or two off each other's plates.

After a filling "breakfast" and lots of leftover, the Mo and I took my niece and nephews over to the Pez Visitor Center. I always see the sign when we drive on 95 and was always curious to stop by and check it out.  It was a quick fun field trip that was around the corner from us.  Price for adults was $5.00 each and $4.00 for children under 12.  The best part was there were lots of opportunities for free stuff and the entrance fee included a 2.00 voucher for the gift shop.  The kids were able to choose a few different Pez dispensers for no additional fee.

Overall, it was a great day in Orange!
