Tapas at Masa's Woburn

I used to go to Masa's in Woburn ALL THE TIME when it first opened its doors a couple years ago. We met up with the Mo's siblings and uncle for drinks and dinner on a Tuesday night during Boston Restaurant Week.

We started off with the Tapas Combo which included 10 morsels of the tapas of the day.  Since we sat in the bar area, the plate only set us back $ 5.00 per a platter since we were dining between 5-7 PM or all day on Thursdays.  I was so excited that they had the bacon wrapped dates and ordered a couple of extra pieces at 50 cents just so I could indulge.

Masa's Woburn Tapas Combo $ 10.00 / $5.00 during Special Times

We split some House Chips and Guacamole and Salsa.  The salsa was on the thick side and not the jar stuff that many of us are accustomed too.  I have to admit, I may prefer my salsa with some texture AND juice.

We ordered Sangria and mojito's but weren't feeling it so we switched to cognac and red wine after the first round of drinks.

At one point the servers switched shifts without telling us and we went a good 15-20 minutes without any service.  That wasn't cool.

Some of us were already stuffed from tapas so we got small bar plates to share. There was a stuffed avocado dish, Caesar Salad, Masa Style BBQ Mac and Cheese with smoked Gouda and Chorizo, a Dallas Burger with Bacon and (2) orders of the skilled roasted scallop and BBQ duck.  Everything was great!

MASA STYLE BBQ MAC N CHEESE

The server was a bit weird about giving us bread since we didn't really order off the REAL dinner menu but he still gave it to us anyway upon request.
