TreMonte Pizzeria serving Stone Hearth pizza in Lowell

The Mo wanted to try something new for lunch today so we headed into Downtown Lowell to try TreMonte Pizzeria, formerly Fortunato's restaurant.  The restaurant opens at 11:30 AM for lunch and we got there a little after 12.  We we the first patrons and was guided through the bar area to a nice window seat with the view of the cobblestones street of Downtown Lowell.  Shortly after more groups trickled in.

We started our meal with the spring roll  sampler which included one of each of their offerings: steak and cheese, buffalo chicken, chicken parm and chicken stir fry.  The wrap was the thicker Chinese style wrap that is used in a typical Chinese takeout.  I didn't think I would like the stir fry wrap but it was absolutely delicious.  The cheesy was creamy and the dipping sauce was sweet and savory.  I would definitely order this again and recommend to others.

A friend of ours highly recommended their thin crust pizza so we ordered the 8" Margherita, a staple in any nice pizza joint.  We were still working on our appetizers when the pizza arrived so it sat on the table for sometime. Since it wasn't at its peak, I wasn't crazy about the pizza. I thought it tasted like any other Margherita pizza, nothing special.

We also shared the toretellini with proscuitto pasta dish with caramelized onions and finished with a cream and grated cheese sauce.  The dish was excellent.  The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce delighted my palate with the sweet and creamy sauce.

We didn't get a chance to try their ice bar, but we will be back.  Total came to a few bucks shy of fifty bucks. Not bad for an appetizer, 2 entrees and a glass of craft beer.
